Most ARs come with sling mounts these days, and it's super easy to install an upgraded latch plate (like Magpul's ADAP QD Sling plate) while you assemble your lower receiver. QD or "quick-detach" slings use spring-loaded swivel studs that interface with simple drilled holes placed in many receivers, latch plates, and handguards. The sling stud pops into the hole for a locked fit. To remove your sling, depress the button atop the stud and remove it.
