Now that you have a basic understanding of the process, you know you need a quality, precise jig for accurately and affordably completing your receiver or frame. We offer 80% jigs that require little to no machining experience and only require basic tools -- a hand drill or drill press, a small vise, and other hand tools -- to successfully cut and drill your new firearm.
All AR-type jigs (whether you're building an AR-15, AR9, or AR-10 in aluminum or polymer) work the same: Two side plates secure the 80% lower and various top plates provide the cutting templates for cutting out the fire control cavity for the trigger, hammer, sear, disconnector, safety lever, and springs. Each side plate also has pre-drilled pin hole guides for drilling the holes required to install your lower parts kit. The AR jigs we sell are designed to work a drill press or mini-mill.
Handgun jigs each work a little differently. The 1911 jig provides a carbide cutting tool for completing the slide rails and barrel seat by hand, while the P320 and Polymer80 jigs provide a template for cutting the frame with a Dremel and cutting wheel. Hand files can be used for final fitment and polishing. All handgun jigs provide pin hole templates for drilling the frames to accept parts kits and trigger components.
Contrary to federal law, some states have either restricted or banned the sale, transfer, and ownership of 80% lowers, firearm blanks, and other gun parts.
